Best clothing subscription boxes
Best for plus-sizes
Dia & Co
Inspired by its founder’s own struggle with finding plus-size clothing, Dia & Co aims to provide stylish clothes for a very underrepresented group. Available in sizes 10 through 32, Dia & Co offers style plans (three, five or seven items) and seasonal clothing subscription boxes, including Autumn Essentials, Denim Refresh, Office Essentials and more. I ordered the Autumn Essentials, and my stylist paired me with three sweaters, a jacket and a pair of jeans. Dia & Co has a specific rating system, so you can give direct feedback on anything you did (or didn’t) like.
There’s a $20 styling fee and a 25% discount if you decide to keep all five items (the discount varies from 20% to 30% for the style plans). Everything arrived carefully packaged, and I was surprised that everything fit inside such a small box. I’m about a size 12, so I can’t quite speak on the bigger sizes, but Catherine, my stylist, did a great job of matching cute clothes with my measurements. The value of all five items equaled $379, which is pretty pricey, but made me look expensive.
- Sizes 10 through 32 available
- Curated boxes categorized by theme or plan
- Secure packaging
- $20 styling fee with a buy-all discount
- Comprehensive rating system for your pieces
- Very quick process from style survey to shipping
- Shopping by theme is limiting
- Not as much communication with the stylist
- You only have five days to return unwanted items
Best jewelry subscription
Jewelry can easily blow a wardrobe budget, whether it’s statement earrings, cocktail rings or other baubles. However, a rental subscription like Rocksbox helps you stay on track, while still maximizing on accessories. For $21 per month, you receive three rental jewelry pieces curated for you based on a style profile and your wishlist.
Unlike many curated clothing subscription boxes, you can preview this jewelry box and swap items before it ships. Wear your three pieces for the entire month, or swap them as often as you like throughout. Note that there will be gaps between bundles for shipping. If you buy a piece, your $21 monthly fee is credited toward that purchase. Items range in price from around $35 to $225.
“My favorite thing about my Rocksbox subscription was the endless options of both fine and fashion jewelry,” says Senior Shopping Editor Cher Checchio. “I love that I can wear bold baubles in rose gold one week and subtle yet chic accents the next. The style profile is a great way to make sure each box is tailored to your preferences—from statement necklaces to delicate bracelets and ring sets. If you’re looking to adorn a new piece for a fun event or you simply enjoy switching up your accessories, then this is the jewelry box for you.”
- Unlimited swaps
- Borrow for as long as you want
- Affordable pieces and subscription fee
- Free shipping and returns
- Credit applied toward anything you want to keep
- More fashion jewelry than fine and demi-fine options
Best for athleisure
Activewear doesn’t last forever. If you’re committed to the gym (or just love lounging in athleisure, loungewear sets or women’s pajamas), sporty clothing subscription boxes might be for you. Enter: Fabletics. For $60 each month, you unlock one Fabletics member credit. Each member credit can be redeemed for any two-piece outfit or item up to $100.
If you don’t use your credit in one month, it will roll over to the next (although it expires after 12 months). And you can decide to skip a month at any time. Most Fabletics items are fun, size-inclusive and on-trend, with feel-great fabrics, cool patterns and bright hues for women plus streamlined basics for men.
“Fabletics was essential when I decided to step my gym wardrobe up from baggy T-shirts and old lacrosse shorts to more fitted and stylish ‘adult’ workout gear in my 20s,” says Content Director Nicole Doster. “My monthly subscription made functional and reliable staples available at a discount. I’ve received just about everything from leggings to sports bras to shirts that felt high-quality and also stylish. Now that they’ve partnered with Lizzo’s Yitty brand, I dabbled in their shapewear, too.”
- Huge selection of men’s and women’s activewear, accessories and scrubs
- Easy to skip a month
- You customize each shipment
- Unused member credit rolls over to the next month
- Simple returns
- Available in sizes XXS to 4XL
- No personal stylist

Rent the Runway
Rent the Runway is a simple way to inject luxury into your closet. Customize your membership to receive five, 10 or 15 items per month for $94, $144 or $194, respectively (less if it’s a one-month-only subscription). After signing up, you select each piece in your bag—no surprises. And here’s a personal stylist tip: Check out the reviews from other users, which often include photos of the item in various sizes.
Deputy Shopping Editor Reina Galhea never considered renting clothes—until she needed a dress for a last-minute Bridgerton Ball. “While I didn’t end up in a petticoat, I found a beautiful Spanish-style dress that made me feel every bit as royal as the queen herself,” she explains. “The selection across the Bridgerton-curated portion of Rent the Runway alone gave me pages to choose from, most of which were well within my price range (less than $100). I love that the company provides a backup size for every order, as I’m often between sizes, and knowing that cleaning was included put my mind at ease.”
Clothing subscription boxes like Rent the Runway also caught Nicole’s eye. “The main perk is that you can rent a dress, sweater, pants—and even jewelry—that’s way more expensive than you’d ever consider purchasing,” Nicole adds. “I found the most savings when I had a five-item/month plan in a season where I had a lot of weddings (and was renting many different designer dresses). Looking back at my cart, I was wearing $1000 outfits that cost me $90 to wear.”
Shipments arrive in two days or less and returns are prepaid. Nervous about renting a pricey piece? Fear not. Your rental fee includes coverage for minor mishaps, small stains and general wear and tear.
- Includes items for all occasions
- Photo reviews from other users show fit and real-life size comparisons (no photoshopped models!)
- No stylist fee
- Keep items for as long as you like
- RTR cleans, washes and repairs clothing so you don’t have to
- You are your own stylist
- Occasional limited inventory on items you want
Best underwear and loungewear
There are two ways to enjoy the world of MeUndies. The first is a monthly subscription of one pair per month for about $10 per pair, and the second is a quarterly mix-and-match of three to six pairs every three months for about $7 per pair. The company uses sustainable MicroModal fabric, which is ideal for all seasons and hot sleepers. As long as you’re mindful about your washing methods, the fabric and colors should hold well.
Senior Shopping Editor Katie Bandurski owns more than five pairs of MeUndies pajama pants, as well as some of its underwear and sock styles. “MeUndies hooked me right away with their fun patterns,” she says. “As a black leggings enthusiast, I love that I can switch up my pajama rotation with colorful prints. Oh, and the fact that you can buy matching pieces for your partner or pup? That’s just icing on the cake.”
“They truly are the world’s softest underwear!” Nicole adds. “I admittedly have not ordered their subscription but have bought a one-off matching set for my boyfriend and me as a gift and we’ve loved the quality of the product.” They can be a little pricey, but you’ll find the best savings by bundling.
- Vast collection of men’s and women’s underwear, loungewear and even swimwear
- Super-soft MicroModal material
- Wide selection of prints and patterns, including licensed options (Hello, baby Yoda PJs!)
- Strong size diversity
- Great quality—holds up well in the wash
- Matching options for your partner, friends and pets
- On the pricier side
- Patterns only print once-when they’re gone, they’re gone!
Best for everyday rentals
When it comes to clothing rentals, Nuuly is one of the best clothing subscription boxes out there. The selection is huge, it’s easy to determine your sizing with reviews and customer photos and there’s a buy-all discount for anything you want to keep. Paying $98 a month to rent clothing (more if you want to buy) may seem like a lot of time and money, but Nancy Snyder, one of our senior shopping editors, says it’s a fun way to shop and experiment with your style.
“They recently raised their price so it’s not very economical to subscribe every month, but I will do it before a trip or occasionally when my wardrobe needs a refresh (and I always tend to receive compliments on their items, so I always feel like I’m a walking advertisement for Nuuly),” Nancy says. “It pushes you to try styles you might not otherwise try, and those tend to be the pieces I end up loving and keeping!”
Madi Koetting, our product reviews home editor, mirrors the sentiment. “Not only is it incredibly fun to browse all of Nuuly’s clothing items from quality brands like Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and more,” Madi explains, “the clothing subscription service makes me so much more confident in my fashion choices. It makes me excited to experiment with clothing I may not buy in-store out of fear of not getting enough use out of it.”
- Access to on-trend clothing from name brands
- No long-term commitment
- More sustainable way to buy clothes
- Large variety of tops, pants, denim, coats and jackets for every season
