For the eighth year in a row, Rover gathered data from millions of pet parents to see which puppy names came out on top this year. You’ll see some classic dog names on the list such as Bella, Max, and Buddy, but since 2020 was such a crazy year, a few new quarantine-inspired are on the rise as well. Keep reading to see if your pups name is on the list or if you need inspiration for your new dog. Dog lovers will also want to see the cutest dog breeds as puppies.

Bella

Bella was the most popular girl dog name in 2020. Bella is a great puppy name for a tiny dog that curls up in your lap or a big, warm-hearted labrador. If you’re bringing home a girl pup soon, these are the 50 most popular girl dog names.

Covi + Rona + Corona

When stay-at-home orders were put into effect from the COVID-19 pandemic, many people decided to adopt dogs to keep them company. Names such as Covi (up 1,159 percent), Rona (up 69 percent), and Corona (up 24 percent) have all seen a spike in popularity. Even the name Fauci saw a spike in 2020.
